Notre-Dame de Paris, commonly referred to as Notre-Dame, is the cathedral of the archdiocese of Paris, located on the island of Cité. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, for many centuries it was one of the largest cathedrals in the Western world.
The Sacré-Coeur Basilica of Montmartre, located at the top of the Montmartre hill, a “sanctuary of Eucharistic adoration and divine mercy”, is a major Parisian religious landmark and the property of the Archdiocese of Paris.

Louvre Museum: an early version of the present-day Louvre Museum was imagined by the Comte d’Angivillier, the Superintendent of the King’s Buildings, as a setting in which to display masterpieces from the royal art collection.
The Eiffel Tower: Paris’s famous 324-metre-high wrought-iron tower is located in the north-western end of the Champ-de-Mars park, on the banks of the Seine in the 7th arrondissement.
The Georges Pompidou National Center for Art and Culture: this home to culture in all its forms was the brainchild of President Georges Pompidou, a great lover of modern art, who wished to create, in the heart of Paris, an original cultural institution entirely devoted to modern and contemporary creation, where visual arts would be combined with books, drawing, music and cinema.
The Musée d’Orsay: this national museum inaugurated in 1986 is housed in the former Gare d’Orsay train station.
La Cité des sciences et de l’industrie: a French institution specialized in scientific and technical exhibitions.
The Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal: this chapel has become a very popular place of pilgrimage, welcoming about two million visitors every year. It is one of the ten most visited cultural sites in Paris.
The Jardin des Plantes de Paris: this is a park and botanical garden open to the public. It is also the head office and main site of the National Museum of Natural History, which has other sites in Paris and throughout France.
